About the role
You will design and run storage and backup platforms for clients and for SOWTK. You will make sure every system is backed up, every backup is tested, and every client can recover within agreed targets.
What you will do
- Design and run storage platforms (SAN, NAS and object storage)
- Run backup platforms and backup policies for all client systems
- Test restores regularly and report on recovery success
- Design and test disaster recovery plans
- Protect backups against ransomware with immutable and offline copies
- Plan storage capacity and performance
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years running enterprise storage and backup
- Current Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) or equivalent backup certification
- Production storage: NetApp, Dell PowerStore, TrueNAS or Ceph
- Object storage (S3-compatible) and cloud backup targets
- Disaster recovery plans you designed and tested
- English at CEFR C1 or above (IELTS 7.0 or equivalent)
Expert knowledge
- The 3-2-1-1-0 backup rule: immutable copies, air gaps and verified restores
- Storage performance: IOPS, latency, RAID levels and caching
- Replication and snapshots: synchronous versus asynchronous, consistency groups
- Ransomware recovery planning: clean-room restores and recovery runbooks
Preferred qualifications
- NetApp NCIE or Dell storage certification
- Ceph or ZFS at scale
- Microsoft 365 backup
- ISO 22301 (business continuity) knowledge
